My Role

I project managed and led the design strategy, collaborated with the design team, and presented concepts and progress to department stakeholders. I also assisted in the creation of sitemaps, user flows, and wireframes. We were able to have a functioning prototype in 8 weeks and I put together focus groups to test.

The Challenge

Design and Launch Before
the Start of the Fiscal Year

The goal was to build and launch the new site by the start of the fiscal year (Fiscal Year Begins October 1st). I was hired in mid-July of 2020, and in my previous experience, I knew that a website can take 4-6 months or longer to complete depending on the complexity, and with only 2.5 months to go, I knew I had a tight deadline.

Design Strategy

Our high-level goals were to:

  1. Create a website that shows the split between the residential and commercial services (2 different brands).

  2. Easy Online Booking (Book When and Where You Want)

  3. Easy Online Payments (Customer Portal - Review & Pay Invoices)

  4. Make the site cleaner and easier to navigate and find information.

  5. Mobile Friendly

  6. SEO Compliant
